Week 10 Wrap-up

Hello Everyone,

I don not believe that it is the end. This course helps me in many things.
I knew about a lot of interesting technologies, such as Blog, Delicious, Padlet, and other interesting websites.
My group matters always write about their work and methods, and I am really interested their answers. Most of all I like making checklists, rubrics, lesson plans and writing on my Blog.
The topic which was the most successful and useful for me is Delicious Page. This tool changed my teaching activity and helped my students to get new information around the world.
I would like to use all new web tools, but unfortunately I have not the connection of Internet in my class room. But I hope some day the situation is changed and I try to use all new internet technologies.
I suggest you my dear readers to look at more new information and try to improve your skills constantly.

I wish you all the best.

Week 9. Learning styles - technology connections

Hello Everyone,
The 9th week is almost over, I can not believe it. This course has given me so much new information. During the course I always had the chance to try out new Internet tools, such as Padlet, Nicenet, blog, Interactive PowerPoint. They all can enhance my work.
The instructor in the course explained me the importance of different strategies and advised me to mention about this to my students as well.
To me, interactive Power Point and Padlet were the best solutions to meet the needs of my students.
The new technology tools are very important for teaching and learning English.
Trying to make all my students satisfy with the lesson and to make them motivate, I consider it is important to unite required skills and intelligences into English lessons.

Have a nice day!

Best Regards,
Tatyana

The more we learn, the more we know
The more we know, the more we forget
The more we forget, the less we know
the less we forget, the more we know

Week 5: Project-based Learning, WebQuests, and Rubrics

Hello Everyone,
This week's topic is so interesting and important. It's really easier creating a WebQuest than I think.
What are WebQuests?
WebQuest is probably the most widely used Web-based activities.
WebQuests allow my students to explore their problems and find their own answers.
WebQuests usually include in:
1) The Introduction
2) The Task
3) The Process
4) The Resources
5) The Evaluation
6) The Conclusion
These links help us to create our own WebQuests:

I am so happy to create such thing.

Week 4: Skill-building Websites for Reading/Writing Skills

Hello Everyone,

In fact, young people do not like to read any books. How parents and teachers can help children learn to love reading? I think, we should become example for them.
For all my student, English is secondary language.
What is the best way to teach the language? I know one simple method:

Read what you like,
Write how you feel,
Speak when it is necessary.

Unbelievable some students enjoy different kinds of reading. So English teachers can change genres and assign homework, like to read fantasy, novel, creative nonfiction, historical literature and even anecdote.
Nowadays students have not problems with lack of books.
People can read online or download a lot of reading materials at any time.
For example, http://americanenglish.state.gov/ebooks.

Strong reading and writing skills come only from practice.
Have a nice day!

Hello,
The 3rd week's task also was to create our own Delicious page.
What is it "Delicious page"?
Delicious page is a free social bookmarking service. It is the best place to keep, share and discover what you love on the web.
I have created my own collection of links and personal search engine.
I like this web recourse and I am sure it will take an important place in my work.

Have a nice day!

Hello dear colleges!

The 3rd week was devoted to Websites for Oral/Aural Skills and Saving Bookmarks with Delicious page.
Thank you for your recommendations and advices. According to them I looked through and added the next WebPages in my list:

Voki has free account. There you can create your own avatar, choosing your dress, voice and gender. Teachers and students have opportunity to communicate in fun situations.

Voki helps to improve as speaking skills, so and writing. Also teachers can check in any time how students use their profiles and when were their last activities.

These resources will help you find all necessary materials.
I am sure I will be able to use them on my lessons.

Week 2 Websearching

Hello Everyone,
This 2nd  week was devoted to Websearching and ABCD objectives.
I got some necessary and useful information for myself.
First of all, it was unforgettable experience to open www.noodletools.com.

This site became an indisputable enrichment of my lessons.
I choice some search sites, which liked me more than another.

These search engines, I consider, help us spend less time searching and more time doing.
Secondly, some words about an ABCD objectives.

ABCD Behavioral Learning Objectives

It is a simple method to make sure you are teaching the useful learning objectives.
Each letter in ABCD means a different part of learning (Audience-Behavior-Condition-Degree) and answer for some questions (who? what? how well?).

A (Audience): Who are the learners?
The students (A) are Elementary and Pre-Intermediate level, second language speakers of English. There are 15 students. Their ages are between 16 and 17.

B (Behavior): What students must do?

Student will choose and check the right variant of countable and uncountable nouns in the given exercises.

C (Conditions): Review a short presentation what does mean countable and uncountable nouns, discuss this theme and answer for several questions.

https://en.islcollective.com
D (Degree): This criterion explains how well the task did. Students did the exercises with 85% correctness.
Conclusion.
Students understood the theme "Countable and uncountable nouns" and worked with great pleasure. A,B,C,D - very easy method for teaching English, it includes all necessary information and description.
For me ABCD is the perfect way to determine how successful the material has been.

Week 1 Reflection

Hello everyone,

It was an unforgettable experience to create my own blog.

Honestly I have never done it before.
So welcome to my first blog!
It was not hard follow the instructions. The difficult was that firstly I could not to decide what I should write.
Sometimes I like to read different Blogs.
There I can find useful information about new technologies and innovations, also the creative ideas for lessons.
Now I think to add on my blog some photographs and interesting news.
I hope it will be interested for another people.
Thank you Donna, for opportunity to open this «little wonderful world» for us.
Best Regards
Tatyana
